Application Rules for Free Distribution

To ensure that the Lingshan Dharma Treasure Tipitaka is properly utilized and circulated, the Foundation will review the qualifications of applicants:

  1. Please go to “Contact Me” to fill out your information.
  2. Applicants must guarantee that the received scriptures will not be resold or used to solicit donations for reprinting.
  3. The applying unit must be a Buddhist monastery, dojo, or Buddhist academy, etc., with at least 10 ordained and monastic members.
  4. Applicants must provide detailed information, including the location of the monastery, the person in charge, and contact details, for verification and vetting purposes.
  5. The Foundation no longer provides free shipping. Applicants who pass the review must come to the designated location in Taiwan to collect the scriptures in person.
  6. The Foundation cannot guarantee the specific volume numbers provided each time; it is highly possible that the volume numbers will not be consecutive.
  7. Some scriptures are sample/proof copies (but still hardbound versions printed on Bible paper), which do not affect reading.
  8. Applicants must pick up the entire quantity of scriptures prepared by the Foundation all at once; the Foundation does not provide temporary storage services.
  9. Due to current manpower shortages, the Foundation does not accept arrangements where the applicant pays for shipping and customs duties while requesting the Foundation to pack and assist with consignment.
  10. If an applicant entrusts a third party to come to Taiwan to collect the scriptures, the proxy must undergo an identity check by the Foundation and present an authorization document from the applicant. If the Foundation finds any non-compliance with the regulations, the applicant’s qualification may be disqualified.
  11. If the applicant fails to collect the books within the designated timeframe (the specific date will be confirmed via email), the Foundation will cancel their qualification and allocate the scriptures to subsequent applicants.
  12. It is reported that: Vietnam Customs has not yet opened its borders to overseas Buddhist scriptures entering Vietnam. Applicants must prepare special import approvals for the scriptures themselves to prevent them from being confiscated and destroyed by Vietnam Customs.
  13. If there are any changes to these measures, the announcement on this website shall prevail, and no further notice will be given.
